Committee for the SVEC Scholarships/Education Awards met Sunday and selected those for this year's recipients and they will be notified and invited to the 2013 Engineers Week banquet. We will also notify all other applicants to acknowledge we received their applications.
Although it is past due, following remains below for reference. SVEC expects to continue these awards for next year.

Awards Eligibility and Criteria
The Silicon Valley Engineering Council Engineering Education awards recognize young engineering and technology students for their dedication, focus, and commitment to engineering. Engineering and Technology students graduating from high school or presently enrolled in undergraduate community college or university programs are eligible to apply. Fulltime and part-time students are eligible. Students may receive an SVEC Scholarship award only once. Graduate students are not eligible.
While not all of these must be met by a successful applicant, it would be of advantage to the applicant if he/she can qualify most of the following criterion:
Granting of Awards
Awardees will be notified through e-mail by 3rd week in February 2013 and will be awarded at the SVEC Engineers Week Banquet on Friday, February 19, 2013. It is expected but not required that awardees attend the banquet. They will be guests of SVEC.
Essay
Using your best writing, please write a short essay (about 150 to 250 words) describing your academic and professional goals, and how your program and this award will help you achieve them. The essay must be typed, attached to this application, and dated and signed by you.
Transcripts
Copy of current course transcripts (official transcripts NOT required, photocopies OK).
Other
Please list any experiences you have had in employment or service related to engineering, including title or description, date, and nature of work.
Please list offices you have held in engineering societies, and projects in which you have participated.
Please list any volunteer or service work you have done at your school or in your community.
Timeline
Applications must be postmarked by February 1, 2013.
