Please plan to attend this meeting of the Industry Applications Society. The speaker will be Hassan Obeid, Senior Global Technical Advisor – Energy Management Solutions at Cummins Power Generation
The objective of this course is to provide a comprehensive overview of microgrids and the integration of dissimilar energy sources such as: synchronous generator sets, photovoltaic panels, energy storage components and others to maximize the resiliency of the power system, reduce the carbon footprint, and lower the cost of operation.
Objectives:
After completing this course, participants will be able to:
Define microgrids and identify common microgrid components
Discuss the functionalities of microgrid controls
Describe how paralleling of the synchronous and renewable power sources is accomplished
Identify key economic, operational, and environmental benefits associated with microgrids
