Tech Talk Speakers

Herman Chu, Senior Principal Engineer, Design Engineering @ Celestica

Senior thermal mechanical engineer with expertise in electronic cooling and acoustic designs for fan and fanless systems. Alternative nontraditional cooling solutions for single-phase and dual-phase liquid cooling include immersion, water cooling, 2-phase pump refrigerant, and thermosyphon. He previously worked as a thermal engineer at companies such as Nvidia, Juniper Networks, Cisco Systems, Procket Networks, Brocade Communications, HP, Wakefield Engineering, Amdahl, and General Dynamics.

Lesley Telford, Quality Manager @ TauTona Group Research & Development Company

Working at a pharmaceutical and medical device incubator in Redwood City, CA. In her professional career, Lesley has worked at various companies in Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs, working on manufacturing and testing processes and data quality, establishing and running clinical trials, and getting pharmaceuticals and medical devices to market. Lesley is a Life Member of SWE; she was the FY23 Chair of the Leadership Coaching Committee, the FY15-17 Section President of the Santa Clara Valley Professional Section, and the FY10 Section President of the Cal Poly San Luis Obispo Collegiate Section. She enjoys crafting, reading, and hanging out with her partner Brandon and cats Carrot and Tomato in her free time.

ASME Santa Clara Valley Section

We are one of the nation’s top-ranked ASME sections, operated by a group of dedicated volunteers with a vision of becoming an essential resource for mechanical engineering needs within Silicon Valley. ASME SCVS, composed predominantly of early-career and mid-career industry professionals passionate about serving the engineering community, takes particular pride in tailoring customized growth plans for each volunteer. Geographically diverse, ASME SCVS covers 2,000+ local ASME members in the counties of Fresno, Inyo, Kings, Madera, Mariposa, Merced, Monterey, San Benito, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, and Tulare.

IEEE SCV

The Santa Clara Valley (SCV) Section promotes the aims and objectives of the IEEE as stated in the IEEE Constitution and Bylaws. The Section concerns itself with all IEEE affairs taking place within the area prescribed by the IEEE as the territory of the SCV Section that geographically takes in all the peninsula cities south of Highway 92, plus the counties of Monterey, San Benito, Santa Clara, and Santa Cruz. The SCV, more popularly known as Silicon Valley, is one of the most extensive IEEE Sections in the world in terms of membership and active chapters. IEEE Santa Clara Valley Section inspires Silicon Valley professionals and students to stay connected and collaborate by creating and providing leadership programs to educate and stimulate technological innovation and engineering excellence.

SWE SCV

The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) is the world’s most prominent advocate and catalyst for change for women in engineering and technology. To ensure SWE members reach their full potential as engineers and leaders, the Society offers unique networking opportunities, provides professional development, and shapes public policy. SWE champions the value of diversity.
