At the fourth quarterly SVEC Council meeting held on June 23 (Thank you EuroFins AG for providing the facility), the Council elected eight people to the SVEC BOD. As outgoing President, Ceal Craig moved to the non-elected, voting BOD position of Past President. All terms are for one year: July 1 through June 30.
Please congratulate the new FY27 President, Glenn Friedman (moving from Director to President), and returning Officers and Directors: Secretary – Karthik Chinnusamy, Treasurer – Paul Jensen, Directors – Catherine Fang, Marziya Hasan, and Yanika Schneider.
Welcome new BOD members: VP – Chris Danek and Director – Niranjan Nandakumar.
Big thanks to outgoing VP Kim Parnell, who will continue to be involved on key SVEC committees (Legends, Membership, and more). Thanks to Ethan Lipman for his service on the BOD this prior year.
We hope you will support the incoming BOD in continuing to grow SVEC, share its message and value with the engineering community, and recognize significant contributors and volunteers in the Silicon Valley engineering world.
Ceal appreciates everyone’s support these past four tumultuous years. The Silicon Valley Engineering Council is on a stronger footing, and that was possible only with volunteer help, donors, people who have time and passion for the organization.
Thank you to the outgoing FY26 Board of Directors for helping us deliver an inaugural Legends of Engineering Speaker Series (October 2026), an annual Open House and Speaker Panel (November 2026), the 2026 Hall of Fame and Awards Banquet (March 2026) inducting Dr. Andrea Goldsmith and Dr. R. Fabian Pease into the SVEC Hall of Fame, and provide education awards to seven stellar high school, undergraduate, and graduate students, as well as a Keeper of the Flame Award to an incredible high school STEM teacher.
